For those who have missed a few days, and would like to catch up at home, below is some of the maths we’ve been working on. This week we’ve been dividing fractions by whole numbers.
Some questions are incredibly simple:
6/4 ÷ 3 = 2/4
In this question, you are able to evenly distribute the numerator into threes.
However, you can also make the denominator proportionately bigger to achieve the same outcome. This is very useful for questions like the following:
1/4 ÷ 3 = 1/12
In this question, you need to multiply the denominator by the divisor. You are essentially cutting the 1/4 into three, so you can share it evenly.
