The following Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are commonly asked questions and answers pertaining to the School.  If there are any questions not listed please do not hesitate to contact the School.

Children, parents and carers are welcome on the playground from 8.45-8.55 a.m. When the bell rings at 8.55 a.m. children will line up in their classes and go in for registration. The school day ends at 3.30 p.m. when Parents and Carers collect their children from the main playground. For more information visit School Day.

Lunch time is 12.00-1.15 p.m. Children may have a cooked school meal or bring their own packed lunch. All school meals should be paid for in advance.

You can report an absence by ringing 01454 218462, selecting option 1 and leaving a message. This should be done on the first day of absence, no later than 9.15 a.m. but preferably earlier, and, on each subsequent day of absence. We request that in cases of sickness and diarrhoea you observe a 48 hour exclusion rule. The Attendance Policy is available on the ‘Policies’ page.

We have up to 20 children in each year group, 140 in total, arranged into five classes. These are;
Willow- Reception and Year 1
Ash- Year 1 and 2
Elm- Year 3 and 4
Oak- Year 4 and 5
Beech- Year 5 and 6
Children in Years 1, 4 and 5 are split. When deciding how to split a year group between two classes we consider academic ability, social groups, siblings and the number of boys and girls in each class.

There will be a member of staff on duty in the playground every morning who will be able to take messages for teachers. Teachers come into the playground at the end of the day when dismissing the class and are available then for informal conversations. For more formal conversations appointments can be made by contacting the school office. You can also write a letter or note for the teacher and give it to your child, or the member of staff on playground duty in the morning, to hand over. When appropriate, teachers will telephone to discuss things.

We organise formal Parents Evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms and an informal ‘drop-in’ Parents Evening, after end of year reports have been issued, in the Summer term.
