Our Shining Stars 11.10.24

14 October 2024 (by admin)

This week are Shining Stars are Charlie; Ottie; Connie S; Tilly and Darcey-Rose.

Charlie was chosen because he has been trying so hard to be an independent learner.  Charlie will try his best to put his coat on by himself, write his name and will have a go at writing new graphemes in phonics.  Well done Charlie!

Ottie was chosen because she did some fantastic writing using lots of interesting similes and expanded noun phrases.  Her description of Paddington was detailed and expressive.  Well done Ottie!

Tobie was chosen because he's been working hard in every maths lesson.  He's been attentive during our carpet work and applied what we've been looking at to our independent practise.  He's not been afraid to make mistakes and has been happy to go back and check things when they go wrong.  Well done for showing all the skills of a good mathematician this week Tobie - keep it up!

Tilly was chosen because of her excellent reading and inference skills.  She demonstrated her understanding of how the different characters are connected to significant events and explained their connections.

Darcey-Rose was chosen for an original, gripping Big Write, the prequel to 'Paradise Sands'.  It is a brilliant read, brought alive by speech, description (ENPs) and a range of different sentence types for effect.  Well done Darcey-Rose - you should be very proud of this piece.
