Our Shining Stars 28.02.202528 February 2025 (by admin) |
Our Shining Stars this week are: Sky; Ruby G; Teddy P; Tilly and Tom
Sky was chosen because she has been working so hard both in school and at home on her reading skills. She is beginning to blend independently, and she can recognise most phase 2 and 3 common exception words. Sky's confidence is growing every day, and it is wonderful to see Sky's big beaming smile when it is Guided Reading or her time to read with an adult. We are so proud of your perseverance and determination to succeed. Well done Sky!
Ruby G was chosen because she has been working hard with her writing. She included capital letters, full stops and expanded noun phrases. We even spotted a simile! Well done Ruby!
Teddy P was chosen because of his fantastic work in fractions. He's worked really hard in every lesson this week - he's listened carefully in lessons and fully understood the concepts we've looked at. He's able to identify numerators, denominators and which fractions are bigger. Great job Teddy! Keep it up!
Tilly was chosen because of her use of emotive vocabulary to capture a character's feelings when writing a free verse poem.
Tom was chosen for writing a great biography of Philippe Petit, the high-wire artist. He included lots of interesting facts about the dare-devil performer and used adverbials of time effectively to link them together. He has also made a big improvement in his arithmetic. Well done Tom!
