Our Shining Stars 04.04.2025

11 April 2025 (by admin)

Our Shining Stars this week are:

Primrose; Ruby; Mia; Fin and Sonny.

Primrose was chosen because she has been working incredibly hard to become an independent writer.  This term we have been focusing on how to write sentence with finger spaces between words.  Primrose can plan her ideas successfully and she is able to retain the word she wants to write in her sentence.  Primrose can segment graphemes to confidently write words using her phonetic knowledge on her own.  Well done Primrose!

Ruby was chosen for her science poster about protecting the habitat of emperor penguins.  It is carefully drawn, coloured and includes lots of detail. Well done Ruby!

Mia was chosen because she has worked really hard on her editing this week.  She's been carefully looking for grammatical errors that she could fix and she's also been carefully revising her word choices and sentences composition to improve her work.  Well done on such fantastic editing and revising Mia!  Keep it up!

Fin was chosen because of his excellent writing.  He has written an excellent dual narrative, capturing the thoughts and feelings of two separate characters.  Allowing the reader to relive the journey home.  Well done Fin.

Sonny was chosen for a fantastic cityscape inspired by the work of Stephen Wiltshire.  His piece (so far) is a masterclass in perspective and shading.  Congratulations, Sonny - you have shown great attention to details and should be very proud of this.
