This week our Shining Stars are; Georgie, Teddy, Seb and Henry.
Georgie was chosen for trying hard to work independently across all areas. She is accessing new activities and applying new learning. We are especially impressed by Georgie’s recall during our ‘understanding the world’ sessions.
Teddy was chosen was chosen for working independently in Maths to find a quarter of a number. He listened carefully on how to do it and then completed the rest of the questions on his own.
Seb was chosen for his fantastic work in English. This week we’ve been immersing ourselves in our new class book: A Storm Called Katrina. We’ve been exploring what life in New Orleans is like and how things changed after the disaster. This Friday, we created news reports about the event. Seb was very selective with his word choices to create a good report.
Henry was chosen for writing a fantastic persuasive leaflet for his attraction ‘Swirly Slides’. Not only was his idea excellent, he also managed to use lots of persuasive devices – rhetorical questions, alliteration, exaggerated language and imperative verbs. Book us in!
