Our Shining Stars 22.11.2024

30 November 2024 (by admin)

Our shining stars this week are: Louie; Ellis; Ellis; Sebby and Darcey-Rose.

Louie was chosen because he is trying his best in Phonic lessons.  Louie can now recognise most phase 2 graphemes and can say the correct corresponding phoneme, without a picture prompt.  Louie can use his phonic mat appropriately to support him in lessons.  Louie has worked so hard both in school and at home on his phase 2 phonics and letter formation.  Well done Louie!

Ellis was chosen because he has been working hard to learn the Y2 common exception word spelling list.  He was able to spell 47 words correctly this week.  Well done!

Ellis was chosen because of his fantastic work, during our observation lesson, in science.  Ellis looked really closely at what was happening during the melting process and recorded his thoughts carefully - he's doing lots of thinking like a scientist to help him understand what's happening as the states of matter changes.

Sebby was chosen because of his great contributions in Guided Reading and for volunteering to read an extract aloud to the rest of the class.  Well done Sebby!

Darcey-Rose was chosen for a brilliant short-burst write.  Writing as Veridian, the alchemist's son, she brought his experience of re-visiting the past alive.  Well done on such great word choices, good flow and a variety of sentence types.  Type is a really well-crafted paragraph
